Starting a New Book and Pod Casts.

Evening Everyone.
Up until a couple of months ago I had heard about pod casts but didn't really now what they were. I think I've got to an age where technology has over taken me and I only tend to find out anything on a need to know basis.
I've been walking every morning for a few reasons. To lose a bit of weight, to get a bit fitter and for a means of relaxation. Whilst walking I have been listening to music but got a bit bored with that so decided to try pod casts. My favourite are by Fearne Cotton and called Happy place. Here is the link Happy place. I have listened to a few and one that I found fascinating was an interview with the comedienne Dawn French. I won't spoil it for anyone that may like to listen to it but I found it really interesting. Dawn is funny, honest and very endearing. Dawn talks about her early life, losing her dad to suicide at 19, moving to university in London and her marriage to comedian Lenny Henry, amongst other things. Well worth getting yourself a cuppa and settling down to listen, or, get your trainers on, like me, and listen while you walk. Enjoy!

So, from this I was inspired to buy Dawns first book ( written in 2008) called Dear Fatty. It is an autobiography although she calls it a book of memoirs. I have only just started to read it so will let you know if it is worth a read after I've finished. Maybe you've already read it, or, indeed some of her other books.
Do you listen to pod casts? Have you got any to recommend?
Until tomorrow
Jules x

I will try to read all comments and reply. Please be polite and kind. Thanks :)

  1. I am not very familiar with pod casts, though I have heard of them. I don't like plugs in my ear at all, so won't take my mobile for listening-reasons when I go walking. Nevertheless Dawn French's must be nice, I agree with you. I like her a lot, she's such a good actress. We happened to watch the tv series 'Delicious' on Dutch tv last month.
I am looking forward to your book review.

  2. Hi Ivy, I've not seen Delicious yet although I have got them recorded. What did you think of them? I know what you mean about the earplugs. They are uncomfortable. x

    1. May be a bit far-fetched every now and then, but well worth watching. Emilia Fox was also great. Don't delete without watching.
